Be aware that locally grown produce is only available “in season”. The seasonal farmer’s markets will always offer locally grown food, but produce stands operating year-round will offer locally grown food in season, with produce shipped in from elsewhere during the rest of the year. Do not hesitate to ask what produce is locally grown. Be aware that farm stands will only be open during the harvesting season. Call ahead to make sure they will be open. Also, some establishments may have gone out of business by the time you read this; let us know of any cases you discover.
Users of this Directory are strongly encouraged to send any additions, deletions, corrections or suggestions to: edfairhope@bellsouth.net . Thank you.
