Family Vegetable Gardening Workshop -Open to All LFPI Members
– Saturday, January 21
Gary Ritter, a long-time resident and successful family vegetable gardener in Pensacola, Florida, will visit our community gardens on Saturday, January 21, to offer his local expertise in planting, managing, and harvesting vegetables for home use.
He will be available for 2 hours at each of our gardens (9 am-11 am at Summit Street and 1 – 3 pm at Homestead Village) to discuss basics in preparing for the upcoming Spring planting season, test soil pH, and be available for specific questions about your individual garden plots and what you want to plant.
Take time to join us on our first of several hands-on workshops this year that are designed to enhance your knowledge of local gardening and increase production from your plots. This program is open to all of our LFPI members, whether you have a bed in one of our community gardens, have a garden at home, or just want to learn more about local gardening. Since February is the time to start planting for spring produce, the timing of this workshop is perfect!
